Dear Mohamed Faisal, Assalamualaikkum wrb.Your comments are very informative and looks very nice on the surface. You might be the priveleged one(probably fair skinned) who is acceptable to the Malays. There are about 500,000 Indian Muslims in Malaysia and what percentage will be accepted as Bumiputras leave alone a Malay.Who are we to change our identity given by Allah swt.I think the time has come for views from Ulamas and Religious scholars. Please fpr goodness sake dont change your identity for priveleges.Let us not be selfish and look at our Ummah in the larger picture.TDM did not ask us to choose between being… Read more »

It is an interesting subject to talk about. Let me quote what Dr. Mahathir said in his (in)famous book, The Malay Dilema. This insistence has confined the acquisition of Malay citizenship to Indonesians, Arabs and Indian Muslims. My dear Alagai makkal,Assalamualikkum wrb.I was there at the dinner and had the opportunity to be present at the closed door meeting of 5 people including Tun before the dinner. This issue cannot be resolved over the website till the cows come home.Every one is entitled to their own opinion and we have to respect them. Please refer to our Ulamas and religious scholars for their views. Why is no one questioning about the Government discriminating Muslims who are not Malays?Tamil is our mother tongue, whether we like it or not and if our children are not speaking then the parents are to be… Read more »

DEAR ALL, Please do not miss the point. What i am saying is this: Just because we know how to speak Tamil, does not make us all Indian. The fact we can speak that language is only a plus point for us. What benefit do we gain by telling the world that we are an Indian BECAUSE we can speak Tamil. TUN was telling that do not “only ‘ Speak tamil and reject the rest. I do not think he ask us not to speak tamil. On another note, i fail to see in this 40 years of my life,… Read more »

If the 1 Malaysia concept is to be a success, all vernacular schools must be abolished and pupils own language(tamil and chinese) must be taught in all schools. Then the Malays can learn Tamil and may be we will become more equal. Why always ask us not to talk this and that? Why not ask someone else to learn and talk more languages?
