Dear Dato, May be we all have to revisit the objective of MAMJ. I dont think it talks anything about Tamil in its formation objectives. As such, its may not be suitable to limit it to Tamil speaking members as is being suggested here. Personally i dont have anything against Tamil, but to use that as a criteria to limit MAMJ Office bearers makes it a mockery of the word Malaysia in “MAMJ”. MAMJ may have existed from time immemorial but the question one may ask is what has MAMJ done for its members? One example MAMJ do not even… Read more »

Assalamualaikkum wrb Al-Sabri, I do not want to waste my time in engaging furher as you have misread and reacted to my statement about Tamil language.I was referring to office bearers and not members. You do not know the history of MAMJ and please do not insult the efforts of our forefathers who had done so much for our Alagai Makkal.I would like to discuss this in the EXCO and will furnish you with what MAMJ has done todate.I am shocked as Secretary of MAMJ you do not seem to have any knowledge of MAMJ’s contribution to our ALAGAI makkal.Convene an… Read more »

Dear Dato,

Proceed to amend the MAMJ constitution and we will end up making MAMJ irrelevant.
As it is the young MAMJ is not even aware that the Association exist.

Dear Al-Sabri,Assalamualaikkum wrb, I would have expected a better view from an educated person like you.You remind me of what my late father told me once.Quote ” Do not think education means going to the University and getting a degree but there is more to that.”Unquote.MAMJ has existed since 1850’s(although registered in 1976) and by Allah’s grace will never become Irrelevant and people who think on those lines become Irrelevant to our community. There are living examples and also some who passed away who thought Alagankulam was not relevant anymore in their lives. Your statement that the youngsters of MAMJ is… Read more »

WEDDINGS AND RECEPTIONS: i HAVE BEEN PONDERING FOR SOMETIME WHETHER TO WRITE ON THIS SUBJECT OR NOT DUE TO ITS VERY SENSITIVE NATURE. AFTER CONSULTING A FEW ULAMAS IN MALAYSIA,INDIA AND LATELY IN AUSTRALIA AND IN JAPAN I AM COMPELLED TO WRITE. THE RECENT VIEW OF ONE OF OUR LEADING ULAMA IN A FUNCTION HAS NOW FURTHER PROMPTED ME TO WRITE THIS ARTICLE. AS PRESIDENT OF MAMJ,I AM OBLIGED TO GIVE MY VIEWS IF ANY THING WE DO IS CONTRARY TO QL-QURAN AND HADITH. AS MUSLIMS/MUMINS OUR ONLY GUIDANCE IS FROM QURAN AND HADITH.ANY OTHER CULTURAL OR TRADITIONAL RITUALS MUST… Read more »

It is a declaration to educate the ignorant minds of what we are.It has relevance to MAMJ as we are Muslims of Indian origin and let this be constant reminder that we cannot change our identity to suit our commercial needs. Our children should be taught of our very Respected and Rich Heritage of Muslims of Indian origin and not mislead them into a fantasy world and when they reach SPM and excel they are told you do not qualify even if you are high achiever because you do not belong that ‘privileged’race.Maybe be it is high time that MAMJ should… Read more »
